Through the North Dakota Roots (Roots) program, NDHFA provides affordable mortgage loans to moderate-income buyers who may have previously owned a home.
You must be planning on living in North Dakota and the home you purchase must be your primary residence.

1) You must meet income limits, which vary based on county.

2) The maximum Roots loan amount must comply with the current Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac conforming loan amount or the limits of the applicable loan insurer/guarantor.
3) You are expected to meet normal credit underwriting standards and must occupy the property as your principal residence. You are also required to make a minimum of a $500 out-of-pocket cash investment.
